CABBAGE PATCH SOUP


This basic soup with its variation gives you two distinctive flavors.

4 cups cabbage, shredded
2 tablespoons water
1 onion, sliced thin
6 cups beef or chicken stock
dash black pepper
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg, optional
1 1/2 cups brown rice, cooked

1.  Cook cabbage, water & onion, covered over low heat until golden brown and half-done.  Stir frequently.

2.  Add stock, black pepper, nutmeg & rice.  Cover & simmer for 10 minutes.  Serve hot.  Serves 6.

This is also an a money saving dish that is very tasty.
